The nurse opened the door wide, revealing Mason. I smiled weakly, immediately noting how she didn't even look up. She simply shuffled around some papers on her desk and tossed her hair up in a bun before finally looking at the door.
 
"Oh. Avree. Hi."
 
Her voice was cold and flat and harsh and everything that I expected. It just sucked having to actually hear it.
 
"You can't ignore me, Mason."
 
"You shouldn't be wearing Luke's sweater," She snapped, probably kicking the crap out of me mentally.
 
"Mase, I'm sorry... But he needed someone too."
 
"I'm your sister! And you ran away with Luke! Of all people, LUKE!"
 
At this, I tightened my grip on the doorframe. "You didn't deserve him."
 
She froze, turning to look at me. "I didn't deserve him? I loved him, Avree!"
 
I smiled at the floor and shook my head, touching the door handle, "And that's exactly why you don't deserve him. You can't just say you love someone and then leave them when you don't need them anymore."
 
Before Mason could comprehend what had happened, I shut the door and left the hospital, wrapping myself tight in Luke's sweater.

okay so our plots are
 
alana's the quiet girl in college, the one who never talked unless she needed to. she was saving her breath for more meaningful things, like her music. it was the only thing that kept her alive at times, and she never told anyone about her talents. then there's the guy, the guy who's open about his music and his athetic career and his popularity. she and him run in different circles, the only thing they have in common being that their dorms are on the same floor. they talk sometimes, even grab coffee, but only because of a class project. if they never had to talk, alana would never have the guts to say one word to him. one day, on his way to ICCA rehearsals, he overhears her singing through a door, but doesn't look because he doesn't want her to see him listening. he begins to look for her, falling in love with the idea of a mystery girl with a perfect voice, meanwhile she's falling for him, hiding in the shadows of his search for someone she doesn't think she can be.
 
Arizona was always a party animal, but the typical house parties of highschool were starting to be drag and her friends agreed. They planned to go and get plastered in Vegas, as a graduation present to themselves. And now it was finally happened. Dressed with a tight dress, and equipped with Fake ID's they made it the city of parties. She meets a guy, and you could say they more then hit it off. Too bad she can't remember too much of it, and neither can he. But it's quite obivious something has happened judging by the ring.

In the morning, the bright sun splashed across the white bed sheets and Natalia's skin as she started to wake up. It spilled through the blinds and she could see the dust swimming in the morning sun as she sat up and stretched. She inhaled deeply, realizing Hunter was no longer next to her.
 
She threw on one of his shirts that he had brought in his small bag and pulled on a worn pair of cotton shorts, walking out to the living room area to find him watching a small TV set that was resting on a counter. A news reporter was talking, and beneath her read the headline "Helshire Patients Escape During Storm."
 
Her breath caught in her throat and Hunter turned to look at her, turning off the TV. Regardless of the fact that they escaped, they were still running. Natalia didn't want to be reminded of the fact that they were running from something more than they were running to something.
 
"Morning," she muttered, rubbing her neck as she went to pour herself a mug of coffee. She could tell by the way that Hunter's eyebrows feel a little that he felt upset for letting her see the TV.
 
Natalia didn't want to be reminded of the horrors she left behind, the reasons that she had scars and sore spots and broken things where her sanity should be. The mental hospital made her worse, not better. She went there for an addiction and came out insane, breaking out with someone she thought she could replace her addiction with.
 
She leaned against the sink, her hands resting against the rim as she closed her eyes. She felt a pair of arms snake around her waist and she exhaled, leaning back into him.
 
He didn't say anything, but he didn't have to. She just knew.
 
They didn't have to verbalize their every thought, because something about that place just brought you closer to everyone. Your thoughts were collective with those of the people around you. It didn't matter what you were plagued with; you were all stuck in the same place with one common goal: getting out.
 
Now that they were out, she didn't know what their common goal was... and she was starting to wonder if they even had one at all.

personality; nixon is the kind of guy that girls’ parents warn them about. he’s tall, dark and mysterious, with a bad habit of breaking the rules and breaking hearts. he doesn’t mean to, at least that’s what he says, but he’s unintentionally cruel. he has a nice side, but he has yet to find it.

Personality: Bitter and cold at first but when she warms up to you, she's caring and soft. She's smart and reads a lot, and is like a walking encyclopedia.
Bio: Katie was brought up to believe that pain was somewhat okay. She was troubled, yeah. But she held it together. The shift happened when she was 13. Her parents died in a car crash, and she was sent to live with her wicked aunt. She fell into a deep depression and it hurt to think about anything. She numbed the pain with music and movies but nothing worked. Her aunt didn't listen when she asked for help, and she grew tired and empty. Her first suicide attempt happened when she was 15. She tried to overdose but they pumped her stomach and she lived. They just sent her away to deal with her problems, locked up in a place where it was common to feel alone.

i've often heard that death is peaceful and easy.
 
i read his letter, the one admitting why he was going to pull the trigger. he was miserable, a lot like me. i wondered if his death was peaceful. anyone in their right minds would know that holding a gun to your head isn't easy.
 
max was gone.
 
my best friend and the only guy in town that i could trust with anything i ever said had left. i loved him before i loved anyone. he was important, and now he was gone.
 
my mom wrote me a letter about everything and sent a photocopy of his suicide note that she knew i would want to have. at first, i couldn't bring myself to unfold it and read what he had to say. after a little while i realized that i owed it to him to listen, and i read it.
 
i was a mess for the next day or so. i didn't leave my room or go to the gardens to see hunter. i found comfort in my bed and food and the fabric of my clothes. hot showers that washed away the sore feeling from a bad day made me feel a little bit better.
 
my guardian nurse asked me if she should tell hunter why i'd been missing. i gave her permission to tell him, but i didn't elaborate as to why. she brought me hot tea in the middle of the night, along with some ibuprofen to help the headaches after sobbing over the loss of my best friend.
 
when i finally left my room, i had my nurse escort me to the gardens. i picked a bouquet of flowers and carved his initials into a tree with a rock, laying the flowers at the roots.
 
when i got out, i would see his grave.
 
when i was better, i could truly pay my respects to the boy i loved first.

Short bio: Nathan was a good guy when he wanted to be. He had a small part of him that wanted nothing more than to be important to someone, which more often than not was hidden behind his agressive and strong cover. He met a girl named Katie, and immediately fell in love with her. That's when his episodes started. The psychotic episodes began not too long after he met Katie. His moods constantly shifted, going from extremely happy to extremely enraged about things that were nothing to be remotely upset about. Katie left him, leaving nothing behind but the number of a therapist with a note saying that she loved him but he needed help in order for her to be happy with him. He was forced to call, and ended up in Helshire after being considered a danger to himself and others.
